Last class before exams
Today was not as serious a class as it should have been, as it was the last day before exams. We managed to get one task done, going over our political test. It was a fun class, despite being called a dog (but that just made it funny), After that Mr. Schick explained to us a chance to redo a test if we scored poorly on it, but thankfully that does not apply to me because my score was not low enough. This class was the last class of 2014, and we will miss John when he goes back to Korea to visit his family. Good day, and a good class- Thank you Mr. Schick

Test Review
Today we went over the test we took yesterday, and although I didn't do well on it, I still got a lot out of class. Mr. Schick gave us our scantrons, and tests that will be useful when studying for the exams. I need to work on studying the small details that compose our class

December 10 2014 -The test
Today in class we took our test on culture. It was a little harder than i expected, but I think I did pretty well. It included lots of details about each religion, which I wasn't quit prepared for, but I think that I answered the majority of them correct. What I really do regret is not studying the movie more. I wish I had known the questions asked to guy playing the game show.I feel kinda bad about being an American who goes to a private school not being able to answer the same questions a "slumdog" can. I have learned a lot about how to study that I will use in the near future with the upcoming exams.

day before test 12.9.14
Today was the last day before our test on culture. This unit we watched Slumdog Millionaire, studied langauge, Ethnic Heritage, and religion. On the test, there will be 5 religions. we went over three of them on Friday, and today we went over Judaism and Buddhism. Mr. Schick told us a fascinating story of their founder, and how he went days without eating decently to better understand why some people must suffer and others have very rich lives. I found that buddhism was a very practical religion. With Judaism, I was shocked that it is only ranked ninth with its' number of followers, but it is evident in the US that more people are Christina the Jewish. i am feeling confident about the test tomarrow, and am sure everyone else is as well.

cultural characteristics- religion 12.5.14
Friday, in class, we studied 5 major religions around the world. They are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Each of thee religions has a founder, except for Hinduism. Hinduism seems to be more like a way of thinking more than a religion where one must worship this being that cannot be proved, or proved that it does not exist. I liked that class, becausee it gave me more ideas on what other people believe besides what we are taught in our Catholic School. We also found out that we will have a test on Wednesday on everything from the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" to what we are currently learning. it will be a stretch to get it all studied for this weekend, but I think that I may manage to do it.

Today in Class- Cultural characteristics 12.2.14
Today in class we learned about the three aspects of culture. They are language, religion, and Ethenic Heritage. We went "in depth" with language and ethnic heritage, but did not have enough time for religion. We learned about how different countries can have links, just with the words they speak. We also learned about how Canada is bilingual, and how America has so many languages being spoken inside of it. I am glad that America speaks English, because English is considered the language of the world, ( I am very happy with not having to learn another language). Ethnic Heritage was an interesting aspect. We learned about how Yugoslavia was a country of many ethnic heritages, then split up because the citizens could not get along. However, The U.S. and Switzerland manages to get along with the many ethnic heritages in its' country. i liked the lesson today, adn am excited for tomorrow's lesson.
